Within these areas, the scientific activities of the Institute include the following:
- Methodologies of forecasting, researching and recognition of mineral deposits,
- Development of unified forms for storage of geodynamic synoptic and multi-variant data,
- Geological, geodynamic and geothermal process models,
- Implementation of computer-based geodynamic synoptic data processing for geological forecasting
- Development of deposit management projects and raw materials acquisition methods from primary and secondary sources,
- Assessment of the possibilities of existence of geothermal water deposits in different regions of Poland and analysis of these water deposit for use in management plans for cities and communes
- Mineral resources acquisition strategy and its use assessment
- Effective methods of mineral resources and energy use evaluation
- Methodologies of optimisation the use of energy sources taking into consideration spatial distribution of these sources
- Comparative analysis of Polish and international technologies for exploitation and processing of mineral resources and assessment of their efficiencies
- Assessment of efficiency and profitability of new investments in the mineral resources economy
