General Information about the Institute
The Mineral and Energy Economy Research Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences was founded in 1997. Its predecessor was the Department of Mineral Resources Economic Policy, also part of the same Academy. This department was founded in 1985. The Institute is a scientific and research unit involved in complex research connected with wide range of issues regarding mineral resources economy. The scope of Institute activities encompasses feasibility studies regarding resource extraction, the documenting, management, processing, ecology and economic assessment of mineral resources in the domestic economy with world market considerations.
