Institute Capabilities
The scope of Mineral and Energy Economy Research Institute research and expertise encompasses:
  • The mineral resources economy, including energy resources, from exploration to utilisation
  • Optimisation models for decision support for restructuring the mining industry
  • Geothermal water deposits in different regions of Poland and the analysis of geothermal water utilisation in cities and commune management plans
  • Prices for energy resources and energy
  • Municipal waste management
  • Regionalisation of domestic energy policy with consideration of economic and ecological factors
  • Sustainable development of selected regions of Poland Besides the research areas mentioned above, the Institute offers:
  • The opportunity to learn about geothermal energy utilisation in the Bańska Niżna Geothermal Laboratory in Podhale
  • The opportunity to conduct research in
    • Chemical water analysis, including crude oil contamination
    • Special analysis of mercury content in water and soil
    • Environmental monitoring
  • The ability to publish manuals, monographs, books and periodicals at the Institute publishing house
