Institute Capabilities
The scope of Mineral and Energy Economy Research Institute research and expertise encompasses:
- The mineral resources economy, including energy resources, from exploration to utilisation
- Optimisation models for decision support for restructuring the mining industry
- Geothermal water deposits in different regions of Poland and the analysis of geothermal water utilisation in cities and commune management plans
- Prices for energy resources and energy
- Municipal waste management
- Regionalisation of domestic energy policy with consideration of economic and ecological factors
- Sustainable development of selected regions of Poland Besides the research areas mentioned above, the Institute offers:
- The opportunity to learn about geothermal energy utilisation in the Bańska Niżna Geothermal Laboratory in Podhale
- The opportunity to conduct research in
- Chemical water analysis, including crude oil contamination
- Special analysis of mercury content in water and soil
- Environmental monitoring
- The ability to publish manuals, monographs, books and periodicals at the Institute publishing house
