The main subjects of Energy and Environmental Policy Division works are related to the fuel and energy economy.

Major works

Major works are concerned with the development of models for economic, environmental and technological relations in fuels and energy industries. The specific scope of our activities comprises various topics of systems research and energy economics:

  • policy instruments,
  • fuels and energy markets: forms, performance,
  • fuel costs and price formation,
  • external costs of energy,
  • economic instruments for environmental protection,
  • power sector emissions abatement, including greenhouse gases,
  • carbon sequestration.
We offer our experience, contacts and ability to form a group of Polish academic, business and government institutions.

Our merits

Our merits are:

  • more than fifteen years research in systems research and energy and environmental economics,
  • special experience in developing and using models as a research tool, energy-economy-environment models on various levels,
  • practice in mathematical programming and systems dynamics models, linking of models,
  • well established contacts with different types of Polish institutions: academia, government, business,
  • experience of working abroad and co-operation with international teams.
Software used

GAMS modelling system has been our main tool for more than fifteen years, we also have experience in using VENSIM system dynamics software and linking VENSIM and GAMS models. Some experience in econometric modelling with EViews.
